FAFSA Deadline 2024 per State: What is the last day to apply in your state?

Getting government aid to start or continue your college studies can be the difference between making it to the graduation ceremony or dropping out. That is why you must be very attentive to the deadline to submit your application and make sure you cover all the requirements to obtain the funds to which you are entitled.

According to Student Aid, registration for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-2025 school year began in October 2023 and will close on June 30, 2024, at the end of the current school year.

There is almost a month left before registration closes, but it is better to send your application as soon as possible. Some states give more benefits to early applicants, while other scholarships and grants have limited funds.

Deadlines by state

Likewise, some state-level scholarships and grants that are awarded along with the FAFSA have different enrollment deadlines. Below, we present the complete list of deadlines by state.

If there is no date specified, check with your state financial aid office. In other cases, it is best to apply as soon as possible, as awards are awarded until funds have been fully allocated.
